The conservation steps that you have taken are exactly what we should expect people to do when electric rates go up. Hopefully others in California are doing the same. It should help to lower demand and ease the crisis.

I can't believe that with all the sunshine that you get in S. California that solar isn't more widely used??? I mean if there is a part of the country that solar would seem practical it's S. California. Perhaps the higher electric rates will spur more solar development?
