I'm afraid people get their noses rubbed in such things all the time. If Sue and Jim and Sally know each other, it's very possible Sally will find out she wasn't invited. Plus it's going to be obvious, if you had a party, for example, that Sally wasn't there. At least on the threads one generally knows why one is excluded. And frequently the only reason it becomes "public" that someone was excluded is that they whine about it all over the place. I cannot really get up any sympathy for "publicity" when it is self published. I've no idea if this applies to Greg and I can't say I really care- I am speaking generally. What seems to really obsess people in real life is all the reasons they "might" have been excluded. And for some reason they always fixate on the worst ones (and, imo. it's usually simple oversight). I know many people who go through life looking for reasons to feel excluded, and then thinking up the most negative reasons for WHY they were excluded.

Who needs it?
Lots of people seem to be on SI just to have the opportunity to fight and work out their tensions from 3d on line. Those people "need" it. Remember on the Elian thread there were people who rarely contributed anything and just would hang around to throw random insults? They "need" conflict. It's clear they crave it. So since you ask there are people who clearly desire it.
