OK, Bald, I'll try one last time, but you are starting to rival Win for thread moron.

In hostage situations, police routinely use the death penalty threat in negotiations with perpetrators. Each time such a hostage situation ends with no fatality, a murder has been deterred. These situations are documented, as are the statements of the perpetrators as to what they were thinking during the crisis.

If even a single murder has been deterred because of the death penalty, I'm in favor of it.

You want proof? No one who has ever been executed has then gone on to become a repeat offender. On the other hand there are people who have been let out on murder convictions and then murdered again. The punishment should fit the crime. NO?
