re 'baled', maybe the reference was to tying up these positions in nice neat bundles before dumping 'em...

One bales hay, bails out a boat, bails out of an aeroplane or stock ... difference there being that with stocks they don't give you a parachute, which makes them, by a quirk of the remnants of Old Scandahoovian in the language, quite baleful .... for years i had a real unabridged OED, loaned it to a friend a while ago, at his house it was seen by a third party who remembered that i had acquired it by the means of said third party leaving it at a house i had years ago, so guess who's got it now .... they have it on cd-rom now, i'd like to try it in that format to see if it's useful ... cross-referencing on cd-roms can be quite efficient, you gain that while you lose the satisfying feel of the paper and binding .... have a great weekend, all [pray for my soul, i'll be working] ... cheers

tyke, good to see you got Bob Johnson interested in the Nunavut infrastructure thing - Message 15922897

Here's another that could benefit to some extent maybe - the Elu property that teevee's swd.v is supposed to be buying from Miramar and Hope Bay ... it's a few kilometros to the east, starts at tidewater pretty much due south of Cambridge Bay

Could be a major new area, with cooperation and quality governance ... huge potential ... if the local jefes du jour are able to control their personal greed sufficiently to assuage fears of political risk ... and they seem to have a relatively clean slate to date - so far all i've heard for scarey stories is the one of that prospector from YK of whom money was demanded for votes ... don't know how that turned out, if they're still talking, or if it was just left with him stiffed.
