The TOP 15 stocks in my dollar volume traded weighted NDX are with this they trade 50% of the NDX dollars ( at this time ) I call it the smart money stocks of the NDX, ( but I have doubts to how smart that money really is ) As of Friday the spread on it went even more negative than the spread on the total, that's not a good sign as it can create liquid problems in tech funds. ---------------------- Note the money spread on the top 15 is minus 2.29% relative to the index, While the spread on the total is minus 1.39%. While this is not a lot and can change fast ; for academic purposes I want to point at it. In both cases what it says is that Issues which normally don't trade as much volume ( and are less liquid ) have the cap weighted index pushed up above the dollar traded one. This often happens when distribution is going on, they try to ease out of the liquid stocks first, then latter dump the less liquid ones. It's too close at this time to say that's happening and most of this damage has come from ONE stock Friday..(JNPR) however if the spread gets worse Monday and Tuesday then the NDX will build serious momentum to the down side. ============== Jim PS ALSO note in for the last Month the ^NDX is not as good as the ^IXIC , that's a negitive too in a bull market the NDX will do better. |
