Anyone eating beef is an absolute fool.

Why do you think 59% of Americans are fat. Why fast food and BEEF are the biggest cause.

Alzeimers Disease - "a degenerative brain disease", mad-cow has been around for decades. They are only just finally letting the public know.

Eating a Vegan diet is the only way to go, live longer, healtier - if everyone did this the pharma industry would be broke, we could close half the hospitals and fire half the clown doctors.

BEEF - foot and mouth disease, mad cow disease, e-coli.

What for. Not to mention all the hormones you are consuming which throws the bodies chemistry all out of sinc. And also meat stays in the digestive track and colon for weeks and is one of the biggest causes of cancer in the body.

Been a vegetarian since I was 12. And have never been sick a day in my life.

And people did not know the beef industry is the number one world polluter. First poorer nations cut down the rainforest to allow grass to grow for cattle to graze. Second there shit has polluted every stream in every national forest in America. Also the corn and maze grown on US farms is the largest and most unuseful use of farming there is. THE BEEF INDUSTRY is something people should stop supporting.

<I will only eat beef now grown by local farmers who do ranching on side, feeding their cattle only what grows
on their lands, ie, no beef products>

But Jim... there's no "scientific proof" that feeding animals other dead animals that they don't normally eat is bad! LOL, mostly vegetarian here as well...mostly because of what I consider the 'unspiritual way' it's produced in this country... we try to eat locally as well... including 'some' meat or fish once in a while... [brother in law caught one last summer in Canada.]

<...imagine a minor mutation of the HIV vurus that made it stable and transmissable in aerosol> Jeez Jim, I was feeling amused and cocky until I got to that bit...

Even the comparison of Jay's father's situation with the USA left me nonplussed as that's a battle which is getting old [Timothy McVeigh is just the latest episode of it, though most Americans ignorantly think he's just some sort of Waco]. <...the possibility we may, yes, even we here in the US, end up facing something not unlike what Jay Chen's father did.> The USA is facing that situation tomorrow and the individuals are again being confirmed as irrelevant to the collective. Though it's interesting how careful the authorities were in handling the children whose mother was arrested and who let the dogs out. I guess they've had enough Wacos and didn't want a re-run just before killing the avenger.

Of course, the much more interesting dichotomy is that which Ted Kaczynski pointed out = the human-created machine versus humans [whether individual or collective humans].

So, there is a lot to keep us amused in these interesting times in which we live. Which sounds faintly like an ancient Chinese curse.

There's always Globalstar while we wait. There could even be a Great Financial Panic of 2001, though it's getting late in the year and the media are busy elsewhere. Still, every dog has his day.
