Thanks for the heads-up: <Anyone eating beef is an absolute fool>
I guess we bears should quit eating bovines for lunch.
Congratulations on your perfect health as a vegetarian.
Again, thanks - I'd like to invite you over for a healthy dinner sometime…

So what do you think about the Masai whose chief source of nutrition is goat meat and milk? I don't recall ever seeing a porker Masai warrior, not to mention their ancestors who ate meat long before they cleared land for crops. It's the Egyptians who first started getting fat, and that was from grains! Scientists discovered that their source of tooth decay was from the sugars contained in ordinary bread flour. The biggest fallacy is the FDA food pyramid, which is completely inverted because people stock up on "low fat" carbs which raise insulin levels and make us fatter. Beef consumption is down, so why are Americans porking up?

I have to tell you there is nothing better than a porterhouse steak with a glass of red wine - otherwise you haven't lived. Seriously, you've been missing out since you were 12 years old - it's time to start eating meat now before Mad Cow crosses the pond!

I agree.. but feel even stronger about poultry and such... at least I see some Beef wandering around out here on the ranges [of course much is still brought in to be 'fattened' before market with god knows what!].

<What for. Not to mention all the hormones you are consuming which throws the bodies chemistry all out of sinc. And also meat stays in the digestive track and colon for weeks and is one of the biggest causes of cancer in the body.>

I thought it was very strange that the EU seemed to back down on this issue vis a vis imports of US beef... no scientific proof that hormones in animals and milk are 'harmful'??? LOL, like you should need it... hell check out the streets of Chicago! Besides any scientist even knows it's better to eat low on the food chain if your worried about contaminants... can't get any better than Vegan for that.

'Eating a Vegan diet is the only way to go, live longer, healtier'

My sister is one and it's just too much damn work ensuring you get all the required proteins one can get from a small serving of meat or fish.

'Why fast food and BEEF are the biggest cause'
I think lifestyle is far more a threat than meat protein. Getting fat from a serving of the correct size to provide dietary essential protein isn't too likely. I'm losing the beef though.

Maurice is probably just too successful promoting 'IT' LOL.

westpacific - >>Anyone eating beef is an absolute fool<<

Ok. I'll join this brief mutation into the "cullinary collapse" thread for a second. But here I line up amongst the absolute fools, and proud of it.

Beef, good beef, is a tremendous source of protein. It also tastes great.

Americans are fat because their bodies generate and store cellulose. That stuff bloating their bodies is not stored beef tallow. It is human fat.

Which is manufactured. Far more likely they are getting bloated up not because of the 1/4 pound of beef in that burger, but because of the starch in the bun and the super-size fries and the sugar in the free refil on the fizzy drink (and on the fries, and in the bun, and in that special sauce)... [EDIT: and the level of insulin in their bodies]

Most fats consumed end up going straight on through, undigested. Anyone who disagrees might want to eat a half a cup of lard - which is pure rendered beef fat. Doubts (and possibly a fair portion of the subsequent meal) should be swiftly dispelled.

Furthermore, those who are biased to the convenience of fast food are also likely to be biased to the convenience of elevators... we may be seeing cross-correlation rather than cause/effect.

Maybe I'm a fool, but I'm a lean and skinny one who enjoys his meat. Instead, I exercise nominally, and minimize intake of simple sugars and simple starches.

John

I eat Beef and tons of it. I smoke a pack of cigarettes a day, I can drink a bottle of Absolut on any given nite. In lieu of all this, my body is perfect, I look like a model..I am ripped to the bone..I don't care if I live to only be 60, when I go out I want to be sure that I lived life to its fullest...
