Not posting as a recommendation to buy. Just so's you know.

AT Schindler product was called Firlan and was in the FSO space for 12yrs. Watson has a keen eye for acquisitions. Here is some info regarding Firlan which is now the Wavebridge product.(Old News)

A.T. Schindler Communications Inc. is a privately held Ontario corporation with corporate offices in Ottawa. ATS was founded in 1985 by the current President and CEO, Andrew Schindler to provide infra-red wireless communication systems to the global marketplace. The company began to market their first products in 1993 and was able to generate $1.2 million dollars in gross sales in 1997 before being dramatically affected by the "Asian flu" in 1998 resulting in revenues of approximately $800,000. ATS has successfully sold the FIRLAN™ products in more than 35 countries and has not had a single system failure to date

This from an investor of Plaintree of old.
I had. Originally bought after their IPO back in 92.... been a while. Had sold... had bought again... good play stock back in the mid 90's ... when Nortel bought a chunk that was even better.
Delaney (i think that was the fellow's name) had a good connection at a couple of the large houses in Canada. As a result Plaintree got themselves mucho $$$, but failed to deliver a product. Typical techies... screwin' up the marketing. Anyhow... when Nortel had bought Bay that sent LAN.to into the pooper 'cuz everyone thought that NT was going to buy Lan.to for their Gig-LAN switch that was clearly better than anything on the market --> including CISCO's. The problem with the LAN boys was that their very high 95%+ compatibility never had made 100% so they thought they couldn't sell it but only continue to RnD it.

Those RnD credits are what the Targa pop and son were after. Seems to me that LAN has a ton of RnD in their back pocket they are carrying forward (like 6MM+).... wait till the revenue hits. Once the RnD can be dropped into that we are smooth sailing for a couple of years.

So..... Watson has a wicked track record. Excellent tax investing knowledge... a company with an excellent name... Nortel on board from the old days... a product that IS SELLING.... and a product (from ATSchindler) that has AMAZING clients behind it including team Ferrari! JUST WAIT TILL THAT GETS OUT!

Because of that... I now hold 50K shares of plaintree.

My only concerns:
- actual sales potential identified in a tight market
- partnerships (not VAR's) with the big players
- FirLans product capacity
- new product development (ie internal wireless LAN's)
- integration of the WaveSwicth with the WaveBridge
- why is Merril the only house accumulating?
- what is the relationship with Taurus? fixed yet?
- and most importantly.....

what am I going to do with all the $$$ I am going to make off of plaintree. The first stock I bought and lost on. And the last that I will maybe make a million on!

Schtoink!

PS - news coming... and it will be good.
