I am afraid you have avoided factual stuff and retreated into a faith based argument. It has failed to convince me. You have no evidence that the priesthood is insincere in its beliefs, for example, or that it does not serve at least as useful a function as the artist, by creating rituals that dignify, celebrate, and sanctify crucial moments in human existence, like birth, marriage, and death. You have no evidence that the priesthood exercises much control over anyone, in most societies. It appears that pagan societies were pretty undogmatic, for example, and that syncretism was not unusual, so that there was a quasi- free market in cults and doctrines. This was especially true in the Roman Empire, where the mystery cults and various gnostic sects vied with Judaism, Christianity, and the official paganism. Well, it is probable that you are uninterested in fact, like most zealots......

<<men are smarter and make more complex schemes to live free on the bacls of others.>>

Let's see...if those are the "men", then who are the others? And where, exactly, is the "bacl" located.

The first atheists to crawl out of their sewers all had the same argument: "PROVE to me there's a God." The definition of faith precludes such "proof", and usually labels it blasphemy. Marx improved the argument by changing it to "God is dead." That fooled a lot of folks, including Time Magazine once. But insanity is insanity, and since a belief in a deity is an integral part of human nature, you liberals will have to deal with that on your own. You certainly bring nothing to the table to compensate.

Have to log off, and get off my bacl for a while...

BJ, #1 P.T. Barnum is the author of that "sucker" statement, so who are "we" that are plagarizing someone else's comment.

#2 Religion is based on faith. If all you have faith in are mere, mortal, fallible, weak in both mind and body, then I pity you. What you think is immaterial to me. It is just your opinion, as what I say is my opinion, so it carries very little weight.

#3 If you choose to believe that you will rot into a pile of dirt when you die, that is your privilege. You cannot prove that God does not exist, any more than I can prove He does. All I know, is that I have sensed His presence as Jesus Christ when my life was saved, physically, by Him. Whether you believe that happened is of no matter to me. I know what happened. You do not. Remember, it will all come out in the end. For those like you, it will be too late IMO.

I have said all I ever say to an atheist, so will not respond to any other posts sent by you to anyone. I will not place you on ignore, because those like you are so easy to overlook without any electronic help.
