Paul: AMD is now offering DDR memory rebates - and that is GOOOOOOODDDDD - right?

No, of course not. Anytime a company has to spend money "subsidizing" a product, it's bad. Some forms of subsidizing are extremely necessary, of course. One of these is advertising. Personally, I would rather see AMD spend money on this.

The plan is to bundle a 128MB DDR DIMM with each 761 chipset with a price under the combined price of both parts. That, say sources, should get the bundle under $60. Bought separately, they would cost mobo makers $30 for the 761 and $31-35 for the RAM.

So we are talking a rebate of what $5 - $10. What was Intel paying OEM's to use Rambus $60 - $70?

Paul
why do you want me to translate my posts to English if you can not read English ? <gggg>
from your own post: "..... to clear inventory .... get the bundle under $60 ..... $30 for the 761 and $31-35 for the RAM....."
I'd think that the large volume discount would be more than $1.01 per 128MB so amd is going to make money on the deal. That is not a rebate

And you call me a MORON?

You make light of a $1-$5 rebate and all I see is a $200 rebate at various retailers for buying a freaking INTEL based system. This on top of a Rambus subsidy...
Intel is burning our cash just to get the Pinto4 moving through the checkout line!

Actually, even PC2100 DDR is only 31.50 including shipping. This $1.50 is no rebate at all, as Jim & ALbert wisely said. Right on the front page: crucial.com
