I did not say that believing in God correllates to being dangerous, rigid, and intolerant. I said that the nature of religion makes it easily abused, and can breed dangerous rigidity and intolerance. I had hoped I was being clear about what I was stating.

I think that is a stretch. The founders main thought was to limit the power of the government (The Constitution) and allow more freedom to the subjects than any other system had done before. That is what made America great. It is in danger at present.
