Ron,

Damn, another good one with Jarmusch. I remember seeing his first, Stranger Than Paradise, when it hit the collegescreen circuit. I will never forget it, watching the opening few scenes and wondering what the frig is going on? what do we have here? My fave from him is Down by Law with Tom Waitts....the opening scenes and credits with Waitts singing this driving, rhythmic tune about I don't know what but the jist of the song was in dead earnest AND, OF COURSE then there's the camera panning the shores of this bayou inlet with all the ramschackle shacks and cabins, most deserted...all in mindwrenching black and white.

the guy's not bad.

Did you see Mystery Train? I really liked that one too. But Down By Law is my fave.

damn- I just read someone else said exactly the same thing I did. I could have just said "ditto"
