No, we must move on from our late 1930s isolationist mentality. The Clinton administration recognized this; the Bush administration hasn't. Global warming, depletion of the ozone layer, conservation and wise use of natural resources, getting a handle on world overpopulation ... these all are global issues that must be addressed by the entire community of man.

European opinion, indeed, is most important. These countries traditionally have been among our strongest allies. It is important that we listen when they talk.

I think the Europeans, many at least, are like prostitutes and go where the money is.

Hence their affinity for Bill Clinton.
