xcr: I believe in the free market but understand that certain monopolies like the utilities need some form of regulation or oversight... When the consumer doesn't have a choice in the selection of who they are going to purchase a necessity like electricity from there needs to be some type of mechanism to protect the public interest... While I'm not for price caps I am for stabilizing the patient in the ER before you have a debate on how to treat him/her... Right now, California needs to be stabilized with an ounce of fairness in the pricing while a longer term solution can be worked out... Jim
