Edit: There are also the principles which underlay the Revolution. The basic principle being the right of the people to revolt against their government under certain circumstances.

The Revolution didn't spring full-blown from the citizenry. It started with a few rebellious souls, who by words AND acts, some of them illegal, gained the support of many, though by no means all, of the citizenry to rebel.

Or are you saying that we were wrong to do so and should still be a British colony?

You have no right to impose your world view on your fellow citizens.

They impose their world view on me all of the time.

As a citizen you have in your toolkit a vote and a voice in the marketplace of ideas like everybody else. The toolkit does not include a truckload of fertilizer.

I agree with that. Even if government control grows to an intolerable point truck bombs aren't a good choice for real opposition only for terrorist attacks.
