What about OS support? Even though there are many people that still consider Jerry a 'wannabe actor' I believe there's more disdain within the industry for Intel's history of brute force tactics. If HyperTransport catches on (which it has) and AMD is successful in producing the Hammer, I believe the industry itself would back AMD's initiative and be extremely critical of Intel if they try to pull a fast one.

Once again, The Great Satan of Software is the key.

Besides, Intel may be lining themselves up for more litigation. Then again, that is half their business. ;-)
