Discrimination and slavery are not issues to make light of. It is a fact that our Founding Fathers made a grievous error in NOT abolishing slavery when a supposedly free country recognizing individual rights was created. The dual nature of freedom and slavery was certainly immoral and undercut the great vision that was to be the foundation for the United States of America. Discrimination and racism is still rampant today. I have seen it many times and experienced it personally since I have dated and had long-term relationships with quite a number of black women. It is not funny when you have other people (black or white) glare at you with undisguised hatred -- and they don't even know who you are, your character, background, education, what you've accomplished, your personal code of morality and values or your life philosophy. I see subtle racism exhibited by people who do not even consider themselves racists on an almost daily basis. There is something to be said by what many blacks in America speak to about racism in today's society. The vast majority of whites do not understand because it has never happened to them and for the most part it is invisible to them because they are oblivious to it, or, in many cases, unconsciously contributing to it.
