Ah, now we are beginning to see the real reason you're against Star Wars. You see it as draining resources from our schools, and probably other social spending programs too.

That's a completely different argument. And one I can at least relate to.

Why didn't you just say from the beginning you don't want to spend the money to protect America from a rogue nuclear missile, instead of cloaking it under a "it's not a panacea blanket, so it's a waste argument"?

In the soon to be approved Bush education program, he's spending far more money to improve our schools then Clinton or Gore ever did. However, until we get at the root cause of our education problem, (that being the structure of the system), it will still be like putting a finger in a dike hole.

Money alone isn't the answer to our government education problems. The NEA is, the Teachers Union is, and the politically connected bureaucrats who place their power above the needs of our children are.

When Democrats stop deciding that PAC dollars are more important then educating our children. Positive change will happen in dramatic fashion.
