Ok, I am no longer quite as bereft of knowledge of REFR as I was. It does sound like a promising technology, particularly the Hanglass development, and I wish you good luck with it.

I've cited Edwin Land in the past as a rare example of a top-level scientist (color vision) who was able to commercialize his discoveries (Polaroid.)

I've also criticised TheStreet.com as being too close to the professional shorts, with Cramer's hedge fund connections, and Greenberg the number one short columnist, who admittedly relies on pro shorts for much of his information. I've had the same kind of reaction as you when they knock my stocks, mainly biotech.

Lashinsky's overall record though is very good in my view. He's been critical of internet stocks when few others were. He actually delayed the IPO of WebVan, when he published an article showing that they were hyping the stock during the quiet period to selected big investors, a common practice, but one that he feels is wrong. That took a lot of guts, and didn't win him any friends in the power structure. I see most journalists and analysts lending support to the big hype machine.

Given that he is making the short case in his article on REFR, I think he had some balance, highlighting the Hanglass connection and the top-tier licensees, quoting the company viewpoint at some length. He's outside his normal area of expertise (Silicon Valley Tech), and various strange things seem to have been going on at the Street.com.

I think the REFR technology has lots of potential, though I'll be watching safely from the sidelines for now. Don't underestimate the power of the shorts, they can sometimes drive down very good stocks, though now that the short is so publicized, the chance of a short squeeze also increases.

If the price should drop substantially, I'll definitely be tempted to jump in and buy some REFR. Good Luck!

Doc

You still ignore the cost issue.

What idiot besides Bill Gates is going to spend the bucks on push button shades?

My friends and family alone now own well over a 1/2 million shares and counting

Did you buy these on the open market or were they "given" to you.

You sound like a pump and dumper.
