Nortel could release some of their holdings to reduce the short position of some brokerage houses. In turn, the resistance will be removed. If ANTC has a quick product design ready and set top boxes will use the new Microsoft software; the stock could move amazingly.

You used the wrong phrase, that is why the analysis is not quite right. It is not a short attack, because the market makers are moving the price up and reduced their short position while investors took profit. When shorts increase at the same time price moved up, only the market makers are shorting. What you should say is that if and when NT sold their portfolio of ANTC, the market makers will have plenty of inventory to make a huge killing, if ANTC performs. This stock has popularity and a market large enough to absorb any privatization.
