Paul, Re: However, I couldn't tell from the text if TWO AthWIper CPUS were used in that TYAN motherboard - or just one. [...] Can you clarify this?

Sure:

Then, it probably will keep looking at the performance in the single time of the Athlon MP. The fact that you prepare as measurement environment of the Athlon MP is the Thunder K7 of the Tyan. Because it touches in detail with the dual compilation of the schedule which is added in the next few days the Thunder K7 in regard to details, here you spare, but it was the only Athlon MP formal support environment which presently can be procured, you prepared in order to measure accurate benchmark.

In English: They used the Thunder K7 as their platform since they had no other Athon MP compatible motherboard at hand. But they used only one CPU, two CPU tests will follow.

re: both SINGLE CPU (Pentium 4 and Pentium 3)

amazing pIII-1GHz more than twice as fast as athlon 1.4GHz and three times faster than 1.2Ghz. <ggg>

BTW you can call athlon an AthWipe but you should really use "pentium III" instead of "pentium 3" <gggg>
