I heard that the early problems with the iPAQ ROM update resulted from bad Intel flash. OTOH the latest update (1.77A) seems to work fine on 95% of all iPAQs (including mine).

BTW, how much space is not used on the ROM, so Linux can use it? Did you know that there are some older iPAQs out there which have 32 MB of ROM? Apparently Compaq had a Flash shortage for some weeks and had to switch to 32 MB flash modules for a while. Unfortunately that doesn't include mine (couldn't use it anyway).
