Tim, the new "features" that softies is putting on XP are not sitting well with most people I talked to. They complain that post "crash" they will no longer be able to reinstall unless some bureaucrat at softie is saying it is OK. A lot of people I talk to are discussing migrating to Linux or other operating systems. That leasing idea and the anti theft feature (namely, you cannot reload on your own computer the program twice) will piss off a lot of people. Softie might have played a major Faux pas here.

(while I was around I don't remember when win 3.0 was rolled out).

I think it was Win 3.1 rollout in 1991, i think it was in MAy, that was BIG MSFT GUI product that designed to lead to corporate acceptance of what was up until that time primarily "Windows 3.0 run time ed." bundled with many DTP apps.

Even with lousy corporate reports we'll end this year 12 to 20% higher because of the liquidity provided by the rate cuts...overcoming weak corporate profits in the long run....That's not hard to figure out... too bad the pontificating lapdogs waste so much bandwidth saying nada....

Namaste!
