Eric L: What will be fun to watch will be what happens in Singapore over the next year or two. Clearly the government can prevent current flavors of CDMA as the Europeans have. Will WCDMA also be frozen out?

Just as in India, the "colonial powers" have had an absolutely amazing influence long after they have "left" [sic.]. Habits within government bureaucracies (i.e. control, control, control) continue.

But perhaps as in India, with the CDMA "poor man's phone," a crack will open. Who knows? This world changes slowly, but it does change - sometimes even towards opportunity.

JIMHO of course.

Best.
