I would have to agree with MadHarry. MSFT/LMC.A have vested too much to allow the United family to drift away. If it were a pair of other companies that did not have as grand a scope as Liberty/Microsoft, then I would be worried. There are many synergies that Liberty, especially, can exploit with United. UCOMA is one heck of a sleeper, in my opinion.

In the long run, your thesis may be correct. In the nearer term, the perception that european economy might outperform U.S. economy seems to be changing to a perception that it is simply lagging it, and thus due for a contraction of its own. Thus fears that european money would flee the U.S. markets are likely overblown. U.S. likely to come out of contraction first. This, combined with unfavorable regulatory decisions for UCOMA and the apparent failure of Chello, is causing folks to bail for a while. My humble opinion. The contrarian in me is looking for a bottom, but I'm too busy at the moment to try to do a thorough balance sheet analysis of this somewhat complicated company. Going to have to leave it at this thought for now. But thinking about bailing on OGSI for smaller than expected profit for similar macroeconomic reasons.

Cheers, Tuck
