hammer,

I'll bet that no cigarette company actually shoved a cigarette in anyone's mouth. Each, and every, person has the choice of smoking, or not smoking, and many do so even in the light of all the information of how bad they are for you. It is the usual demo/lib concept of blaming the producer, and not the one that uses the product. Cars kill people, but do they rant and rave about car manufacturers? Kids die in swimming pools, but do they want to shut down pool makers. One could go on for ages citing items that can cause harm, but are harmless until some human being misuses them. If people did not buy tobacco products, the producers would have gone out of business but, that would not have been good for Al Gore's wallet. If they want to rail about tobacco products, then they should denounce Gore for making a living producing, and selling, the stuff.

It is impossible to protect people from themselves.
