In BC electricity stealing goes on all the time in grow houses. All that delicious BC Bud is gown in houses with artificial light and heat. We had a grow house just up our lane, no idea it was there, until the police busted it. They need so much power that our utility would notice the huge boost in juice use, so they simply bypass the meter within the house. The policed estimate there are hundreds of houses here. In Vancouver they are run by Vietnamese gangs, in the Fraser Valley it's mainly Biker Gangs. That house close to me was rented supposedly by a young family, Vietnamese, but they were just the front.
