I specified notepad to open it but when I try to open it it asks again what proggie I want to use to open it. Grand. <<<<"Otherwise, downloading a clean copy seems like a simple winning strategy" but is it working? <g3> >>>> That's debatable. I was getting these popups with increasing frequency until I deleted the browser and installed a new copy. No bugs for a couple of weeks, which had me saying, yeah, corruption, then the bug reappeared but it hasn't been very frequent only a couple of times. I also continue to suspect both of my isps might be involved in this bug since the message refers to the email server and that's not on my machine, it's on the isps server. My DSL isp (verizon) has been about as flaky as you could possibly imagine (don't get me started) and my 56k isp (dellepro) is a close second. Dell admits their isp software is buggy and they don't seem real interested in addressing the problem. So, in a world full of bugs, how do you isolate where a bug resides? Especially when the bug can be multiple bugs on different systems, mine and theirs. I'll continue to kick this one around. I've spent three years reflecting on how to add more monitors to my system. Now I'm feeling confident that I understand what's involved and I'll probably do it soon. Got any preferences between ATI and Matrox video cards by the way? I am using an ATI Rage Pro 16 MB PCI on my Dell 4100. I always liked the name "Rage" for a video card for some reason. Matrox looks like it may be the best choice for multi. Wondering whether to go for 450, 400 or 200. Can't see what the diffs are except that 200 comes in a quad version that costs more than most computers. I'll probably get a dual and keep my ATI PCI for a third monitor which should be enough for my charts. I'm rambling here and not at all concerned about it. best, Rick
