"According to international reports quoting a DoCoMo executive, the October 1 launch is still a go."
----------

If the October 1 launch was still a "go", SK's plans for a wCDMA network for the World Cup in June 02 would be as well.

This is PR smoke.. that will continue to the very last minute... just as it did with their May commercial launch deadline.

SK was the "tell".

My immediate reaction to this type of news is negative, then I realize we should be cheering for Docomo.

If they can get wcdma rolling, not only would that start generating tons of revenue for QCOM from sources that were not there before, but it will put pressure on all the 1x carriers to get off their respective behinds.

So instead of bashing Docomo and wcdma, we should be cheering for their success.
