Derek, Families, communities, and churches always accepted responsibility for and cared for the needy. Our government has robbed individuals of their MORAL obligation to be PERSONALLY responsible for those in need. Our government has robbed individuals of the JOY and COMPASSION of caring for those less fortunate. Our government has robbed the needy of the LOVE FELT by those who truly care and the GRATITUDE for it. Our government has robbed the needy of the DESIRE to do better. Our government has robbed us all. Although I try to choose my words carefully, many will not be able to comprehend what I am about to say. Faith-based policies ARE DEAD WRONG and you know why? Because crooks will take advantage of it, Moonies, Hare Krishnas, Whackos from Waco and Scientologists will get the same rights.,money as real honest churches. Idiot TV evangelists will get government money to hand out to their flock which they will pocket themselves. And everything will get mixed up between the real and the profane. Remember the MARJO story? Just a conman in preacher's robes. Remember ORAL ROBERTS? My friend's his daughter and told me it's nothing but a big money scam. Not taxing organizations like that is help enough. Some of them should the taxed the way they operate. Remember Jim and Tammy Faye? Jimmy Swaggart and his hookers? Same with a lot of those so-called Christian organizations. And what's to stop extremist Moslem groups from participating? Using it to buy bombs? Or you or me if we want to put on a robe and get government money? And who decides what's a religion and what isn't? This is a blatantly stupid gesture to boost the power of Baptists who make up a big southern block of GOP voters. And it will cause thousands of scandals and wrong if it's ever enacted, far more than the idiots who dreamed this up imagine. It also definitely blurs the division between church and state. It's one of the stupidest ideas I've ever heard along with Star Wars. Why doesn't Buish do something about the economy instead of always BS'ing us with these lame, wrong-headed schemes of his, lies and cover-ups?
