this is probably a dumb question, but if you're aware of this pattern, than why not go long on the way up and sell the spike at the top...that way the easy money is 100% of the spike up plus whatever comes before it instead of 40% of the spike on the way down. Just curious.. I've followed your thread with interest..

Also another question. what do you think of selling options. either covered calls or covered puts.. in the put case, covered with cash.. not a short position.. just curious..

Michail, does GPSN fit your definition of a blow off top? The only fly in the ointment seems to be the analysis upgrade. Stock peaked early in the morning, and drifted downward, only to have a small upturn at the close of the day.
