I think AMCC is closely associated wtih optical networks, so it will probably hurt some. It may also hit the contract mfgs. I expect it to hit other telecom semis (PMCS,XLNX, ALTR, BRCM, etc. ) pretty hard. Now we get to slog through 3 + weeks of bad news. Gald I'm short here. If you are long, you may want to consider hedging by shorting SMH (semis) or IAH (net hardware) or even QQQ (althought that's too diverse is some ways), possibly some indivdual stocks. Since it's hard to guess the direction of the market, I am starting to like pair trades Long 300 shares good company in sector X Short 300 shares bad company in sector X Good & bad here would mean BOTH fundamentals & technicals Best of luck, energyplay
