I'm going to have to spend more time at the "Laughter" thread myself.

Without attempting to qualify for the Understatement of the Year award, I think we can all agree that telecom, in all its various incarnations, is a huge industry that is in a state of turmoil now, and in all probability will be for the foreseeable future. Did you know that telecom engineers were shown to have one of the highest job induced stress levels of any profession out there? In addition to the super fast rate of change of technology, they now wonder if they will be working tomorrow or the next day.

So your premise that What I see happening in the next couple of years is a new wave of fierce competition as vulture funds like Promethean move into the SP space and can offer services at pennies on the dollar to the established players who are trying to pay down debts that the Promethean types can wipe out in BK procedings, purchases of distressed bonds and with convertible preferreds to wipe out the existing equity holders. It's going to be a really wrenching couple of years ahead. may be right. Unfortunately, I'm not the savvy type when it comes to high finance manuevers. Just that old country engineer type I was telling you about.

BTW, if you run into the QCOM type of industry jargon or doublespeak, just let me know. I'm pretty good at deciphering that stuff.
