ot: I disagree 100% with price controls. The MEDICAID program takes seniors and the poor out of life threatening situations. MEDICARE is purely a political play for seniors' votes. Price controls will only make it more difficult to receive the premium care that Americans receive, the envy of the world. As over 80% are satisfied with their insurance plans, the media exaggerations have lead to the perception that the US general population is in dire need of health care. Far from the truth. Most people paid their own bills in the old days. They didn't rely on someone else to bail them out. They had something called pride. They were too proud to beg, unlike the liberal, take anything I can get for free mentality of our materialistic society, today.knc

The medical profession also contributes to cost in one very significant way - it has its roots as an art, not a science, and a significant amount of medical intervention (sometimes very costly intervention) has absolutely no scientific basis to support it.
