Got a great idea! Pass Kennedy/McCain as is, but attach a universal "loser pays" arrangement for ALL civil suits in federal courts. Over half the states would quickly follow.

Then watch that fat hypocrite, Kennedy, back so far off patients' rights he'll look like Kervorkian...

lsh, what you have explained is way to complex for a vacant liberal mind to understand. Also in your reasoning you have not listed anyone to blame. Those with 1/2 brain already understand and the vacant liberal minds will never understand.

Ish, my understanding is that an employer would be on the hook only if it was the one who denied coverage, not where its only role was to pay HMO premiums.

If AS and others really wanted to know what happens when government starts dictating to insurance companies what, when, who, etc.....have them do a search and see how many insurance companies are left in Washington State versus how many there were before the Clintons started "fixing" the medical system in 1993....(See Secretary of State for WA, and then compare current vs 1990 or so....) Then compare other states....

What is REALLY hard is the number of small businesses who can't get the same rates (and coverage) as larger companies/UNIONS/GOVERNMENT agencies do....(insurance companies say "not large enough risk pool".....

And yet, it is small business that is the growth engine for business in this country, and has been for decades...

Now, if the politicians want to "Fix" something....they can FIX that!! Have rates for every citizen of this country that are comparable to ALL the companies that serve the Governmental agencies....

As I've said, after all, we are the US Taxpayers, and pay the payroll.....therefore, we should be called the US Taxpayers Company....we could qualify!!!!!
