I can tell you that. <<<Why is this thread here?>>> It's because there are a few people in this world who are so ignorant and prejudiced that they can't tell they are still looking in the mirror held up by Bill Clinton and seeing themselves.

why is this thread here?

A bigger question is why do you read it? Don't you have any free-will over your actions?

I dunno, I guess left wing knee-jerk reactionary misfits and oddball characters need someplace to hang out.

Carolyn,

Sorry, I almost missed your post amongst all the chatter. Welcome to the thread. Great to have you here. I take it your a conservative and we're very glad to have you here.

Nothing is more boring than having everyone of the same opinion on a thread. KLP, Charleymane, McGowan and jlallen made some very good posts recently. And I think I can speak for the liberals when I say that we're anxious to hear your thoughts.

It's really a pretty broad topic, despite the title. What sort of policy or political position discussion would be of interest to you? I'm anxious to hear your thoughts.

Cheers,
jttmab

Perhaps energy policy is of interest to you? Here's an article found by Mephisto that's a good read.

Message 16004897

I recall Cheney pretty recently saying that energy prices in California weren't going to go down there was a fundamantal problem with supply.

I wonder, as Charleymane might say, whether Cheney was couching his terms.

There's this article also that I'm sure you can give a hand with....an extract.

For the past week, about 20 White House aides have huddled in the Eisenhower Executive Office Building at 9:30 each morning to set their energy game plan for the day. "The president has done a lot to help people who are being hurt by the energy crunch, and it's up to us to make sure they know," said Jim Wilkinson, White House deputy director of communications, who organizes the meetings.

Would you mind letting us know your thought on what the President has done? Jim Wilkinson didn't elaborate.

Browne, of BP, said in an interview in New York that the United States does not need to build major new gasoline refineries -- as called for in the Bush energy plan -- but can rely on the expansion of existing ones.

Now I'm pretty sure that Cheney said that we need new refineries. This dude from BP says something different. I'll bet ya' Cheney was couching his terms.
