I can't help thinking there is something huge ahead in religion in the next decade. People are not that different now than then. Look at the sales of the National Enq and related rags. People are still afraid to walk on two legs and terrified of the sky. The Universe is still big enough to cast an eldritch shadow on the courage of most.

Still...the old religions are falling prey to science and sensibility. With a new Pope on the horizon, and the church well aware of its need to innovate or die--it is anyone's guess...
