I believe the Fed began cutting the funds rate in August 1981 and the discount rate in November 1981, took six months off (raised the funds rate a point or so during that time), and then began cutting aggressively in July 1982, a month before the market bottomed. All FWIW...

Amazing that the market could put a positive spin on yesterday's Fed announcement, BWDIK.

I was thinkin since dow hasnt broken & reflation is successfull (I guess NOT so far) that in a yr or so inflation & a dow correction would bring PE ratio back in line & everything would be back to normal(ie. weve been raped again but salaries adjust upwards ).
Is there any site describing how a deflationary K winter happens (Before first hand experience!LOL) ?
