I'm not splitting hairs mildmeld.....I'm stating the facts whereas you're backpeddaling and twisting facts to suit your faux paux...your data is incorrect, to say the very least....you're providing abstract generalisations <your friends are in the top 10%, JNPR options were exchanged, CSCO management doesn't care for its employees>. These are serious things !!!! Well I'm telling you some of your "facts" are wrong outright...and others are based on *your* opinion of the quality of yoru friends.....how objective is that ???

To get outta the hole you put yourself in, all you have to do is to acknowledge that your information may be incomplete and incorrect. I am telling you that JNPR never exchanged the options for their employees...they did exactly what csco did....allocated more !!! As far as Nortel is concerned, there is no hope for recovery...it's going to go the LU way. Repricing in the face of such a hopeless future makes sense....not that its going to do any good to the employees !!! The shareholders dump them so fast after repricing that employees rarely win out !!!! And you think any employees of csco will choose nortel coz 'it's management is smarter and reprices options' ? LOL ! Get real ! <smile>

I remember being in Asia during the Asia meltdown when CSCO did the exact opposite of what its then competitors 3COM and Bay were doing. That was their break away strategy. Their competitive landscape changed to include LU and Nortel. Well, this time round they HAVE broken away from LU and Nortel and are creating new competitors.....so your point that its days are over...well...could be....but its again not a FACT !

And no, CSCO is not lying to their people....their building expectations for the newcomers....that unless you pull your weight, your salary will be in the 66 percentile forever !!!! Its called motivating and reinforcing the culture of hard work !

You realise why no one here is supporting you publicly ? Even though there are hundreds if not thousands of CSCO employees who lurk and play on this board ? Even though it is perfectly legal to whine about their employer in public ? Coz there are very few, extremely few who would say that they are getting a bad deal....most can't tell you how well they are paid because of the confidentiality agreements...!!!! CSCO employees lurking here are frustrated coz not only are you choosing to misrepresent the company they work for, you are also choosing to ignore their voices when they are telling you the facts thru pms...<smile>....be a little more accepting of their work experiences...!

All employees are part of the economic landscape. Who knows, your friends might be the ones Chambers gave up his salary for ?

Have a pleasant evening <smile>...and try not to have such a black and white approach.....but its been a pleasure.
