John, Historical ratios of all kinds: moneycentral.msn.com I don't know if the "E" excludes one-time accounting events. By the way, you might be able to win your arguement about Softie's PE not being under 45 if you exclude one-timce accounting events including gains on sales of investments. And that will get you into another debate about whether or not those items should be excluded. Since the winner of that debate won't ever be decided, at least you won't lose. :) --Mike Buckley
