Joe - I live in an area of San Diego that was wired for fiber-optic cable a couple of years ago. It seemed the streets were dug up for about a year, then our building had to be completely re-wired. At the time it was a big mess, but now I don't know what I'd do without my cable modem. I hope you don't have to wait much longer. (P.S. The only way to watch streaming video of the pandas is by cable or DSL. I'm not even sure DSL is fast enough.) Betty P.S. The green boxes aren't all that bad, although occasionally someone crashes into them with a car and shuts the system down.
