At this point in history, there should be no argument whatsoever against the fact that free market capitalism represents the form of organization of society that is capable of creating widespread wealth and freedom on a scale never before imagined on every level. Yes, I have read my Popper and I know who John Galt is. But if the spreading of the gospel takes too long then the Seattle WTO scenes are just a tiny prelude of things to come. It is a pity that in one crucial area Europe fails to live up to its responsibility. Agricultural policy - that's a huge socialist, protectionist mess, I agree. A surplus of food is created and destroyed. Mountains of milk, butter and meat are kept in refrigerated warehouses.
