I agree Tom it was expected, but who would have predicted a 10% gain(if it holds today) on a earnings warning?
Perhaps the gains are from some short covering by those who expected a warning AND for the stock to tank.

if the semis rally on bad news and the momentum last for more that a day or two does that mean the market perception has changed? Finally the the earnings have reached bottom?

Only time will tell for sure.

Tom,

Keep XLNX on your watch list. This thing has a PE over 500 and the CC was REALLY bad. Sector bro ALTR reaffirmed guidance. What does that tell you?

No way this one won't correct.
