Scumbria, re: i845 is going to be considerably slower than i850, and the cost difference will be minimal.

At least one version of the i845 will include integrated graphics. A large portion of the business segment doesn't require the performance of P4, RDRAM or hi-end graphics. I assume that Intel will position P4/SDRAM in the "value" segment as replacement for PIII as they phase the PIII out. Whenever the replacement market starts back up in earnest this may be a popular product, and eventually the only value choice from Intel.
(Perhaps Celeron will be around longer than planned?) Personally, I'd love to see PIII/Tualatin in the desk top market, but it looks like Intel is going to constrain that choice.
