Well this is really hard. You obviously have your feminist presumptions about victimized women that you want to apply in general across an entire population. Why? Well long live the agenda or what ever. There are women and men who are coming out of the country with complaints. The complaints are valid since they are estranged from the group that has obtained control of the country and which they don't want to belong to. They are victims of the cultural change and they are truly suffering. I have supported them financially and morally in their struggle to survive and have a decent life. I would welcome them in America. I think they would love to come. I doubt that they could relate to you and your agenda at all. On the other hand, the vast majority of Afghans are very much embracing the results of the Taleban movement. The families are very homogeneous. The women are very much in control of the home life and the men are very much the public representative and in control of life decisions outside of the home. This is very traditional. A man is not a man in this culture who tries to make decisions within the home or decisions involving the social structure of the home. Again, very traditional. Women are seen as very powerful in the culture. Why don't you attempt to make some effort appreciate the culture and what the women really represent. This image of whining, oppressed victims that the media loves to present is false and insulting. There are many things to criticize about all of this. Victim advocacy has its place too. There are REAL victims. If you really give a hoot, drop the agenda for a moment and take a real look it. I doubt that you are really interested. Prove me wrong.
