One of the big risks that most overlook is the real danger of money fund defaults. A lot of the stuff in some of these funds is crap pure and simple. And with many viewing money funds as the equivalent of bank deposits, the risk of a major financial shock from this source is very real. And if the Fed moves to bail them out via the printing press, its bye bye greenback and hello inflation.
