According to Prudential, the end of June rebalancing of Russell 3000 shall have a significantly beneficial effect on tech issues. Relative weighting of the latter is expected to increase by a significant percentage (3-5%), and a similar effect will be seen with Russell midcaps, to a lesser extent however.

ML's Osha has claimed that semis as a whole will see their trough sometime in the month of August - that's CYQ3 BTW, not CYQ4.

By the time we clearly discern signs of business recovery, especially in the manufacturing sector, stock prices of tech issues will have increased by 30-50% percent from the current levels already, if history can serve as an approximate guide.

re: I bet it is one very interesting trip.

It was, I'm having a hard time putting into words what I have seen. From Everest to naked begging kids all over the place. I was overwhelmed by it all. I also declare this decade the decade of China, maybe the century too. Buy QCOM and China mutual fund. We are in deep shit since China can get away with trashing a complete society and still get the Olympics. I happen to have the unfortunate experience to be on China's ill-gotten soil my last day in Tibet when Beijing was chosen. You should see how they are using the Tibetans as slave labor to build roads all the way to Everest Base camp, the assholes have no idea what they are doing! They want to change Tibet into Disneyland. On one hand it's impressive what they are doing, on the other, they have no right. Still, I feel fortunate to have seen what is left of Tibet. 20, 30, 50 Years from now, Tibet will be a state of mind. One or two generations, and poof, it will be nearly all gone. I had to be warned a number times to hold my tongue for fear some of the monks were informants. WHAT A JOKE! Monks as spies. LOL
