David: my main point was that Robertson is far right consrevative.. yet he is allying with the Dems on the issue of the oil companies being the sleazebags.

I haven't followed what Robertson has or hasn't said about the oil companies, as his commentary is not important to me.

My use of the term "liberal" is always derogatory, as liberalism is to blame for almost all our nation's ills and I defy anyone to show me a liberal program that worked. It's not personal, however -- I know lots of nice people who are liberals. I just wouldn't trust them, let alone to run a country.

Hmm, I see the dems have joined up with Pat. It seems Pat also is using a favorite dem. tactic.

Mr. Robertson declined to name either of two banks that he said had withheld
support for his company, the Cenco Refining Company. He also declined to identify
the oil companies he said were involved in intimidation.

You notice, he just made nameless accusations, without a smidgen of proof. On the other hand look at the oil companies reply.

Oil companies have denied working in collusion to limit competition. They point to a
Federal Trade Commission report this year on the California gas market, which
found no illegal activity.<<

The FTC couldn't find any illegal activity by the oil companies in CA. Kind of shoots a hole in your and the dems theory, doesn't it. Maybe, if Canada had a shot at keeping up with us in man. and tech.,you wouldn't have to try so hard to peddle your Canadian oil.
