I don't have the actual releases, but reduced royalty rate in China is for Domestically Produced And Sold Only.

Any Chinese export will be subject to normal royalty rates.

carranza: Suggest today is a day to enjoy.

It has been clear all along that Qualcomm made some concessions on the licenses to Chinese companies for products to be used within China, but it has also been understood that the fees for export are similar to those elsewhere.

The Koreans may moan and groan, and probably will, but they will also be riding the CDMA voice/data tornado worldwide with strong profits for themselves and an early entrant advantage, so I suggest you not lose too much sleep tonight over their words.

Best.

Chaz

The lower license fees to the Chinese may bring claims that Q is not fairly and non-discriminatorily issuing licenses..
----------

IMO, this will be resolved with 1xevdv - with China's LAS_CDMA being integrated into standard specifications and China owning a piece of cdma2000 - their license fees will naturally be lower - giving China vendors a structural advantage.

IMO, this is why China is at the 1xevdv table to begin with....

This would render the issue moot.

I think QCOM will offer same deal to Nokia, for cdma handsets manufactured in Finland and used in Finland.
