Although we knew for years that this day would come, others had not a clue. For you old timer Qheads you will recall when years ago Q shipped their first CDMA phones and we were sitting in front of our puters hoping they would work! And they didn't at first!!!!! Hell, we didn't even know if the system worked, let alone become a world standard! Then the ERICY capitulation set the stage for the world to go CDMA. The Ericy deal.........that was actually the first time when some of us knew the war was over. It has taken a few years for that to become public knowledge, and even today after the NOK deal we will have analysts "not getting it" and reporting FUD. So......be ready for other battles. Yes!! I love these times when a story unfolds, and the events click past as planned. This NOK deal is another milestone for the Q. Remember that these events will come and go. We will have "other" things to worry about now. It was not that long ago we were completely confused about the China situation, but that is now history too. In the future other companies will come forward and challenge the Q, they will puff up their chest and ruffle a few feathers. The old time FUD will be out there again. Bet on it! I know there are some of you out there that have gone through soooooo much of this that it is now funny to read those fantasy reports. Hey, we had our enemies in Marc Cabi, or how about our buddy Ed Snyder. Those two guys never got the story right, and we have not heard a word from them since the "China will never go CDMA". I am sure they will come out and put their "spin" on it and find some way to make it look like NOK pulled a fast one on Q. Ha!!, we know the truth. Now the NOK deal is behind us and NOK is our "buddy". Let it be known that I am now officially cheering for NOK!! I hope they sell a ton of CDMA phones.........GO NOK!! As for NOK's future, well, it ain't so bright I fear. The now do not have that "royalty edge" that they had with GSM. Now their profit margins will slip, and the playing field is level. Plus........here come the Asians! Full steam ahead. If you have been keeping up with the China developments you will know that China is banking on becoming the CDMA supplier to the world. Count on that to happen. Nok will try........but, look at history......the radio, motorcycles, TV, cars.........O my, those Asians know how to produce. So, NOK still has many years yet of making good money, but I think their days of glory are now going to slowly fade away. Before they signed with the Q they had no hope. Now.......we will see. Keep your eyes on this NOk company, watch how it all pans out over the years. It will be a good education! Remember when investing in story stocks like Q!, if the story keeps panning out then these companies can have years of tremendous growth. It is an easy investment.....just let it ride. Keep up with the story though, because some day the story will change. New technology, competition, deaths, wars, etc........anything can change the story. With the Q, as of today, we have 4-5 years of looking good yet. Actually most of the money is yet to come. The company is performing well and the stock price will follow. It is too bad that all of this is happening in this economic environment, but...........as long as the company does its job the stock price will go up. Well, that is as long as Capitalism ,as we know it, continues to exist! Again, congratulations to the Q! shareholders. And be careful out there......John
